About Our Toys

Peter’s Wooden Toys is a small business based in Ottawa that produces handcrafted wooden toys. Each toy is made by selecting pine, custom shaping the wood, and sanding it by hand. The variations in the toys result from the selection of wood, sanding, and other factors, making each toy distinct. Wooden toys may have potential small parts. We recommend these toys for children 3+ years old. Adult supervision is required.

Most of our toys are made from unfinished pine. We sometimes paint larger toys like Garages and Doll Houses for older children. Because unfinished pine soils easily, we now apply a food-safe beeswax coating by default. If you prefer an unfinished toy for painting, please specify.

Not all of our wonderful toys are displayed on this website. If you have a specific toy in mind, please contact us. If you want a custom toy inscribed with a name, we can give you a quote. We will be pleased to meet your request.

Note: Each toy is custom-made, and variations occur as we produce more. The images may not always represent the exact item you will get. If you are unsatisfied or if the toy breaks (since they are made of wood), we will gladly repair or replace it
